The first step was to get my striking on. I already had a double-end bag. Then I picked up a heavy bag and speed bag with stand.

Though I will have a fight focused gym, I still want to be able to maintain some sort of strength and conditioning program at home. Step 2 for creating my garage gym was the purchase of a Gold’s Gym dumbbell set, kettlebells and rack.

  • 2 X. 20 lbs
  • 1 X. 30 lbs

If you look up barbell sets, these could easily run you $85.

Kettle bells

  • 35 lbs

Looking up kettlebells, this would cost about $55 (a dollar per pound).

Fortunately, I found the weights and nifty little rack for $120 on Craigslist. I don’t have everything I need for heavy weights, but I have just enough for a good home workout session. Looking to build this area step by step.
